Happy Autumn!! The weather has turned colder, the wind has picked up and my Uggs are back on (well who are we kidding--they've been on and off all summer here in Scotland!) My baby turned 4 yesterday and we have had an incredible string of people visiting us over the last month. This week in one day: one neighbor dropped of a bunch of grapes from his 150 year old grape vine, another neighbor baked my kids favorite dessert, one friend gave me a bunch of zucchinis from her garden, while another baked some muffins and dropped them off. I am continually amazed at the provision from people both locally and internationally. As my kids say moving means that pieces of your heart are scattered around the globe. All of a sudden no place is home and nowhere contains all the people we love. In the midst of this overwhelming gratitude Holy Spirit has reminded me this week that my home is with God and so wherever I go home goes with me.
Over the last few months I have written a 10 day (or 10 session) bible study on Hearing God's Voice. My hope was to put together things I have learned over the last 15 years about discernment, how God speaks to us to us today and how God has been speaking to us humans for centuries. It takes a journey through the Old and New Testament at different stories of people interacting with God and then tries to apply it to our own life. Angels, dreams, voices, hearing for ourselves and others are all part of the study. I've attached it as a free ebook in the resources section on my website and below. Feel free to download and if you have time I would love to hear your feedback! Thanks! Now on to my next project...fear and parenting--or better said parenting without fear!
